Biacna topical gel is a prescription medication used to treat severe acne in adults and children over the age of 12. It decreases the number and severity of acne pimples and helps existing pimples to heal more quickly. It contains a combination of clindamycin phosphate and tretinoin.

Tretinoin belongs to a class of medications called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of skin cells. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria that cause acne.

Biacna topical gel helps decrease the number and severity of acne pimples and helps pimples that do develop to heal more quickly. The medication can take several weeks to months to improve acne and may appear to worsen acne during the initial few weeks of use.

Biacna Topical Gel is applied topically to the affected areas of the skin once a day at bedtime, or as directed by your doctor. When using Biacna Topical Gel, first wash your hands. Next, use a mild/soapless cleanser to gently clean the affected skin and pat it dry. Apply a small amount (about the size of a pea) of the medication with your fingertips to the affected area in a thin layer.

Be careful to avoid using the gel around your eyes and lip area. Do not apply Biacna Topical Gel to cut, scraped, sunburned, or eczema-affected skin. Furthermore, it should not be applied to the inner lip area or inside the nose/mouth.

If the medication accidentally gets into your eyes, flush them with large amounts of water and contact your doctor if there is any eye irritation. Wash your hands after applying the medication to avoid accidentally getting it in your eyes.

During the first few weeks of using Biacna Topical Gel, your acne may appear worse before it gets better. It may take several weeks to see results from using the gel.

To ensure the best results, use the medication regularly at the same time each day. Do not use a larger amount or use it more frequently than recommended as this increases the risk of redness, peeling, and pain without improving the effectiveness of the medication.

How does Biacna Topical Gel work?

Biacna Topical Gel contains two active ingredients, clindamycin and tretinoin. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that helps to kill the bacteria that causes acne. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that helps to reduce the size of oil glands in the skin and to prevent the formation of new acne bumps.

How do I use Biacna Topical Gel?

The gel is applied once daily, in the evening. Wash your face with a mild soap and water, pat it dry and wait for 20-30 minutes before applying the gel. Apply a small amount of the gel to the affected areas of your face and gently rub it in.
