Noritate Cream (active ingredient: metronidazole) is a prescription medication indicated for:

  • Rosacea: Noritate Cream is used to treat inflammatory lesions, such as papules and pustules, associated with rosacea.

Noritate Cream belongs to a class of drugs known as topical antimicrobials, which work by reducing inflammation and bacterial growth on the skin.

Noritate is applied topically to the affected area of the skin and is available in a cream form. Use the Cream on the skin only.

To use Noritate Cream, first, wash and dry your hands before and after applying the medication. Then, wash and dry the affected area of the skin. After that, apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area(s) twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Gently massage the cream into the skin and make sure to avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and nose.

Avoid using Noritate Cream around the eye area, unless directed by your doctor. Watery eyes or tearing of the eyes may occur if this medication is applied too close to the eyes. Avoid getting this medication in your eyes. If this occurs, rinse your eyes with large amounts of cool water.

Use Noritate Cream exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Keep using this medication for the full course of treatment. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
