Nilandron is typically used in combination with other treatments such as surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy. Like other anti-androgens, Nilandron works by blocking the effects of testosterone on the prostate gland, which can help to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.
Nilandron is available as an oral tablet and is usually taken once daily for a month, followed by one tablet once daily thereafter. Take Nilandron regularly at the same time each day to get the most benefit from it. Do not stop taking any medications for your prostate cancer unless told to do so by your doctor, as stopping medications could allow the cancer to spread more rapidly.
