Needle Ultra Fine Mini is an insulin pen needle designed to not only prioritize precise insulin-dosing, but also comfort and ease-of-use for the patient. The Ultra-Fine Mini pen needle is the second shortest needle in this line. This means that it is not only less intimidating for the patient; it is also less painful and reduces tissue damage during injection, while still being as effective as longer needles.
The Ultra-Fine Mini needle is now built with a 5-bevel tip that drastically improves user experience. The needle itself is made from electro-polished surgical grade steel with Micro-bonded lubrication. The needle can be safely used by adults and children, providing reliable injections with no pinch-up of skin required.
To use the Needle Ultra Fine Mini, make sure you have everything you need, including the Needle Ultra Fine Mini, insulin pen, insulin vial, alcohol swabs, and a sharps container for needle disposal. If you are using a new pen, remove the cap and check the cartridge to ensure it contains the correct insulin. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water to maintain cleanliness.
Choose an injection site on your body (e.g., abdomen, thigh, or upper arm) and clean the area with an alcohol swab. Let it dry completely before proceeding. Remove the protective cap from the Needle Ultra Fine Mini and screw it onto the pen device until it is securely attached. Do not touch the needle or allow it to come into contact with any surface. Follow the instructions provided with your insulin pen to prime the needle. Priming removes any air bubbles and ensures proper insulin flow. Dial the desired dose of insulin on the pen device according to your healthcare provider’s instructions. Hold the pen device like a pencil and gently pinch the cleaned injection site. Insert the Needle Ultra Fine Mini into the pinched skin at a 90-degree angle or as instructed by your healthcare provider. Push the plunger of the pen device to inject the insulin slowly and steadily.
After the injection, withdraw the Needle Ultra Fine Mini from the skin. Apply light pressure to the injection site with a clean cotton ball or tissue, if needed. Safely dispose of the used Needle Ultra Fine Mini in a sharps container as per local regulations. Do not recap or bend the needle.
