Gravol Adult Suppository is inserted into the rectum and typically pushed in about 1 inch for adults. The usual adult dose for dimenhydrinate is 100 mg every 4 hours as needed, with a maximum dose of 400 mg within 24 hours.
To use Gravol Adult Suppository, follow these general steps:
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
- Remove the suppository from the package and hold it with your fingers.
- Lie down on one side with your lower leg straightened out and your upper leg bent toward your stomach.
- Use your finger to gently insert the suppository into your rectum, pointed end first.
- Push the suppository in as far as it will go.
- Stay lying down for a few minutes to allow the medication to be absorbed.
- Wash your hands again with soap and water.
Use Gravol Adult Suppository exactly as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are taking dimenhydrinate regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
