ANORO ELLIPTA (is a prescription medication used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a combination of two medicines, an anticholinergic (umeclidinium) and long-acting beta agonist (vilanterol). It contains two active ingredients, umeclidinium bromide and vilanterol, which work together to improve lung function and reduce flare-ups of the illness
ANORO ELLIPTA is not indicated for the treatment of asthma, and it should not be used as a rescue medication for sudden symptoms of COPD. It is just an inhalation powder prescribed to help people with COPD breathe more easily.
Vilanterol is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist and acts by getting attached to beta-2 adrenergic receptors present in the airway muscles. Umeclidinium is a muscarinic receptor antagonist. It works by blocking other receptors called muscarinic receptors, which control the contraction of muscles. Together, the active substances in Anoro Ellipta work in different ways to widen the airways and improve breathing in COPD.
ANORO is a combination medication containing 55 mcg of umeclidinium and 22mcg of vilanterol. It comes as a dry powder inhaler and should be taken through a portable inhaler device. The recommended dose is one inhalation per day at the same time each day. Because the ingredients in Anoro Ellipta are effective for 24 hours, for it to work properly you only need to take it once a day, at the same time every day.
Anoro Ellipta is given as 1 inhalation once daily at the same time every day. It should not be used more than once in 24 hours. Taking more than one dose can increase your risk for serious side effects.
Don’t stop Anoro Ellipta without medical advice. Use Anoro Ellipta for as long as your doctor recommends. It will only be effective as long as you are using it. Don’t stop unless your doctor advises you to, even if you feel better.
Once-daily ANORO is a prescription medicine used long term to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or both, for better breathing and to reduce the number of flare-ups.
