Domperidone

Domperidone is used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by other drugs used to treat Parkinson’s disease. It increases the movements or contractions of the stomach and bowel.

Before using Domperidone, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are taking or planning to take any prescription or nonprescription medicine; if you have any other medical conditions; if you have high blood pressure.

Before using Domperidone tell your doctor if you:

• Have bleeding from the stomach or other problems involving the bowels
• Have a pituitary (brain) tumor
• Have liver disease
• Have a sensitivity to Domperidone

Domperidone is excreted in breast milk, and no studies on its effects on breastfeeding infants have been reported.

Domperidone Side Effects

Most severe: Loss of balance or muscle control, swelling of the mouth, fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse, swelling of face, hands, lower legs, or feet.

Most common: Breast milk flowing from the nipple, dry mouth, swelling of the breast (males), headache, hives, hot flashes, itching of skin, itching, redness, pain, or swelling of eye, menstrual irregularities, pain in the breast.

Other: Change in need to urinate, change in appetite, constipation, diarrhea, burning, difficult, or painful urination, difficulty speaking, dizziness, drowsiness, heartburn, irritability.
