What is Advil cold and sinus used for?

This medication, a combination of Ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine, is used to treat stuffy nose, sinus congestion, cough, and pain or fever caused by the common cold or flu.

Ibuprofen works by reducing hormones that lead to inflammation and pain in the body. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant, which shrinks the blood vessels in the nasal passage.

  • active stomach ulcers or duodenal ulcers or bleeding;
  • diabetes;
  • gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • narrow-angle glaucoma;
  • difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate.

Dosage

The starting dose for adults and children (above 12 years) is 1 -2 caplet in every 4 hours as needed.
