Stiolto Respimat is a prescription medication used to help control and prevent symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is a condition where the airways in the lungs become narrowed, making it difficult to breathe. It is used as a long-term maintenance treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults to prevent airflow obstruction and reduce COPD exacerbations.

Stiolto Respimat is a combination medication that contains two active ingredients:  Tiotropium is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) that prevents your airways from tightening and helps them stay open. Olodaterol is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) that helps relax the muscles in your airways, causing them to open. The combination of the two drugs work by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing.

Stiolto Respimat is taken as an inhalation spray, with 2 puffs once every day. Wait at least 1 minute between each inhalation. Do not use more than 2 puffs in a 24-hour period.

Stiolto Respimat is a prescription medication that should be used according to a doctor’s instructions. Do not use Stiolto Respimat more often or in higher doses than prescribed. If you are using other inhalers at the same time, wait at least one minute between the uses of each medication.   • Stiolto Respimat should only be used as prescribed by a doctor and should not be used more often or in higher doses than prescribed.
  • Follow the instructions for priming the inhaler if you are using it for the first time, if you have not used it for more than 3 days, or if you have not used it for more than 21 days.
  • When priming the inhaler, make sure to direct the spray towards the ground to avoid getting the medication in your eyes.
  • Stiolto Respimat can cause serious side effects, including severe allergic reactions, seek medical attention immediately if you experience any severe symptoms.
  • Before using Respimat, disclose your medical history to your doctor as certain medical conditions and medications may affect how your body responds to the drug. This includes kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, seizures, and any other medical history of note.

Stiolto Respimat can start to work relief in about 5 minutes. It continues to work for 24 hours to help you breathe easier.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Stiolto Respimat?

If a dose is missed, patients should take it as soon as they remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, patients should skip the missed dose and take the next dose as prescribed.

Can Stiolto Respimat be used if you have asthma?

No, Stiolto Respimat is not for use in patients with asthma.
