Muro 128 ointment is a medication used to reduce the swelling of the surface of the eye, specifically the cornea, in certain eye conditions. It contains 5% sodium chloride hypertonicity ophthalmic ointment, which helps to decrease the amount of fluid in the cornea and reduce swelling.
Muro 128 ointment is typically applied to the inside of the lower eyelid every 3 to 4 hours or as directed by a healthcare provider. To apply Muro 128 ointment, start by washing your hands. To prevent contamination, avoid touching the tip of the tube or letting it contact your eye or any other surface. Rolling the tube in your hands for a minute can make the ointment flow easier. Next, tilt your head back, look upwards, and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch. Squeeze a 1/4-inch (0.6-centimeter) strip of ointment into the pouch.
