Carteol Hcl belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers, which work by decreasing the production of aqueous humor in the eye, thereby lowering intraocular pressure.

To use Carteolol Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution, First, wash your hands. Shake the medicine well just before each use. Let go of the eyelid and gently close the eyes. Do not blink. Immediately after using the medicine, wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them. To keep the medicine as germ-free as possible, do not touch the applicator tip on any surface (including the eye). Also, keep the container tightly closed. Serious damage to the eye and possible loss of vision may result from using contaminated eye medicines.
Make sure to use Carteolol Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution USP, 1% exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not use more or less of the medication or use it more frequently than recommended, as it may increase the risk of side effects.
If you miss a dose of Carteolol Hydrochloride, you should take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take double the dose to make up for a missed one.
